REGISTRATIONS FOR FALL 2024 IS CLOSED!
Ballston Spa Community Youth Cheer was formed in 2015 to support and show spirit for our Ballston Spa Community Youth Football teams.
We started with 9 girls ages 5-8 in 2015. The program has now grown to have 4 teams, roughly 70 athletes, with ages ranging from 5-14, in Grades K-8.
We are a close knit group and welcome families from neighboring communities. We encourage parental involvement!
We teach the fundamentals of Cheer, Tumbling, and Basic Stunting.
Our mission above all else is that our cheerleaders have lasting memories and life long friendships.
For Cheerleaders returning who still have their pompoms from most recent season the fee is $125 if paid by check, cash or VENMO.
*If Paid via PayPal there will be a $5 convenience fee. Total $130.
For new cheerleaders or those returning without pompoms from most recent season the fee is $140 if paid by check, cash or VENMO.
*If Paid via PayPal there will be a $5 convenience fee. Total $145.

BOTH! We Cheer from mid-late August through October for the Ballston Spa Community Youth Football program and then in November we begin Competition Season (programs are separate).
No, Competition Cheer is a much smaller group and there is a "skills test" that will be assessed prior to joining the "Comp team".
For games there may be some travel, typically 30 minutes +/-.
Uniforms are RENTALS, you do however keep your Pompoms and Bows.
We generally practice 2 evenings a week, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 5:30. Occasionally we may have additional practices on other days or even a Saturday in the event of a BYE week for the Football team, we will give ample notice prior to those situations. Games are on Saturdays, and unfortunately wont have times/locations until the week of the 1st game once Football finalizes their schedule.
In August when we begin the season it is warm, athletic shorts & t-shirts, as it gets cooler, sweatshirt, leggings and/or sweatpants. Long hair should be tied up.
**THEY SHOULD BRING WATER AND THEIR POMPOMS TO EVERY PRACTICE/GAME**
Just like many other sports this is a team sport, and whenever a member is absent it effects the entire team and their ability to properly practice their routines. So please make it a priority to make sure your child attends all practices and games. If there is a situation that is unavoidable and they must miss one, please reach out to the Director or Assistant Director prior to the beginning of the practice/game.
No, we have found that the athletes stay focused much better when parents are not in view, so after the first few practices we may ask parents to leave and return 15 minutes prior to the end of practice. We just ask you to be sure to keep your contact number with us current should an emergency arise.
*Parent/Guardian must return 15 minutes prior to the end of practice in case there is a need for a quick parent meeting, and to ensure our coaches are able to leave in a timely manor, please remember, we are ALL VOLUNTEERS.
YES! During practices they will be taught routines and cheers, and similar to learning an instrument, or dance routine they will need to practice them on their own. We generally will post videos in the group communications app for them to use as a guide.
